Changes in Masses Beginning this Weekend
With recent declines in COVID-19 rates and increases in vaccinations, the following changes will be made in our Sunday Masses beginning this weekend:
For Masses and other liturgies IN THE CHURCH:
- All doors will be open and available for entering or leaving the church.
- Face masks covering both the mouth and nose are required, except for babies before they are walking. Priests, lectors and cantors will remove their masks when they have speaking or singing parts. At Communion time, masks may be removed only long enough to receive Communion. If you are unable to wear a face mask because of age or health reasons, you are encouraged to attend one of the Masses outdoors.
- The collection will be taken up pew-by-pew, and the gifts of bread and wine will be brought forward by some of the faithful.
- Communion will be distributed at the usual time (after the Lamb of God).
For Masses and other liturgies OUTDOORS:
- Face masks are recommended when one is unable to keep physical distance from persons from other households (such as when one is walking to or from one’s place in the assembly).
- Different household groupings should seat themselves with physical distance from one another.
- Communion will be distributed at the usual time (after the Lamb of God).
The Sunday 1:30PM Mass in Spanish will move into the church.
For the coming weeks, the Sunday 8:00AM Mass in Spanish and 10:00AM Mass in English will continue to be outdoors on the school field and livestreamed, and drive-through Communion will continue to be offered at 12 noon. When coronavirus rates fall a bit more and more people have had the opportunity to be vaccinated, those Masses will be moved into the church and drive-through Communion will be discontinued.
