Please note – to satisfy one’s obligation both for Christmas, December 25 and Sunday, December 26, one must attend two Masses: (1) one Mass between 4:00 p.m. on December 24 and the evening of December 25, then (2) another Mass between 5:30 p.m. on December 25 and the evening of December 26.

Tenga en cuenta que para cumplir con la obligación tanto de Navidad, 25 de diciembre como del domingo, 26 de diciembre, se debe asistir a dos Misas: (1) una Misa entre las 4:00 p.m. el 24 de diciembre y la noche del 25 de diciembre, luego (2) otra Misa entre 5:30 p.m. el 25 de diciembre y la noche del 26 de diciembre.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks be to God that we will be able to celebrate Christmas this year in a much better way than last year. Here at OLG, we will be celebrating our Christmas Masses this year in our beautifully decorated church rather than outside as we did last year. Like many of you, I will be celebrating part of the Christmas holiday with family this year, unlike last year when many of us were not able to be with family at Christmastime. We are not yet out of the COVID pandemic, especially the delta and omicron variants, so we still will have to take some safety measures to protect ourselves and others from COVID, but that does not have to affect our Christmas cheer if we do not let it.

I will be traveling to Houston after my early morning Mass this Sunday to be with family for the week and returning on New Year’s Day. So I will wish you now both Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May the joy and peace of our Newborn King be with you and yours during this Christmas season and in the New Year to come.

Gracias a Dios que podremos celebrar la Navidad este año de una manera mucho mejor que el año pasado. Aquí en OLG, celebraremos nuestras Misas navideñas este año en nuestra iglesia bellamente decorada en lugar de al aire libre como lo hicimos el año pasado. Como muchos de ustedes, celebraré parte de las vacaciones de Navidad con la familia este año, a diferencia del año pasado, cuando muchos de nosotros no pudimos estar con la familia en Navidad. Todavía no estamos fuera de la pandemia de COVID, especialmente las variantes delta y omicron, por lo que aún tendremos que tomar algunas medidas de seguridad para protegernos a nosotros mismos y a los demás del COVID, pero eso no tiene por qué afectar nuestra alegría navideña si no lo dejamos eso.

Viajaré a Houston después de mi Misa matutina este domingo para estar con la familia durante la semana y regresaré el día de Año Nuevo. ¡Así que les deseo ahora Feliz Navidad y Próspero Año Nuevo! Que la alegría y la paz de nuestro Rey Recién Nacido estén con ustedes y los suyos durante esta temporada navideña y en el Año Nuevo por venir.

With sadness but faith in the Risen Lord, we announce the death of Ana Marina Morales, mother of Fr. Leonel Vargas. Ana entered into eternal life last Saturday night, December 4, 2021, after a bout with stomach cancer. Funeral arrangements are below. Please keep Ana and Fr. Leonel in your prayers.
